Mr. Bob Lilly was born in Throckmorton, Texas, and
moved with his family to Pendleton, Oregon, for his senior year in high school. He was an
Oregon All-Stater in football and basketball. Bob returned to Ft. Worth, Texas, to attend
Texas Christian University on a football scholarship, where he earned All-American honors.
Upon graduation, Bob was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys as their number one draft choice.
For the next 14 years Bob played with the Cowboys, making the All-Pro Team 7 times and
playing in 11 Pro All-Star games. Upon his retirement in 1975, his name was inscribed
above Texas Stadium, in the Ring of Honor. Bob was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of
Fame in 1980, the College Football Hall of Fame in 1981, and was selected by the NFL to
their 75th Anniversary All-Time team in 1994.
